After the mass shooting in Virginia Beach, security expert Monty Edge stressed the importance of training for how to respond as government entities make a variety of security upgrades as well.
“We only get to control one thing, and that’s if we’re ready if we are attacked,” said Edge, who is president of Active Threat Solutions. “But, any effort to train people and give them meaningful action to responding to an attack in their facility is a step in the right direction.”
In Friday’s shooting, 12 people were killed along with the gunman. Investigators say he was an employee who had access to the building and used a suppressor on a gun.
