September 2012 – November 2012

As Director, Uniondale Unit – Community Affairs Division 1995 – 2004

Organized and oversaw a PAL Unit – Community Outreach Program – a complete Sports Program for after-school youth ages 4-18 with the mission of preventing juvenile delinquency and gang influence.

Sports Program

Hired, screened and supervised a staff of volunteer and part-time paid instructional staff. Expanded the program to 2000 youth participating in basketball, bowling, karate, football, soccer, and track. Acted as public relations liaison between police department and community, succeeding in greatly improving the community relations with the police. Oversaw the budget controls, and checks and balances; procured equipment; secured permits to use playing fields. Created athletic contests and marketed events.
